Isn't she so CUTE

I just thought I would post this picture of Ali, she is so stinkin cute, and I miss her so much... Errin said the other day when Ali woke up she asked if she could go to Salt Lake and see Shell, Errin told her no, not today, maybe another day. She said Ali freaked out for a couple of hours and was so mad that she couldn't go to Salt Lake.... Ohhh it makes me feel so loved...

Life is full of Learning...

I love life.. It is so wonderful and I love that I get to constantly learn something new each day whether it is about myself, work, or relationships. There is never a dull moment, and everything Good in my life comes from God.
Today my boss asked me to come see her on my lunch break and she asked me a simple question about why "we" as a OR count knife blades.. I didn't know the answer except for its a sharp and could accidently be left in the abdomen and I have always counted them. Thats what I was taught too. She explained that that was not the reason why the knife blade(s) get counted and she then explained that the reason why they get counted is so that none go down to soiled utilty...So that basically they all get put into the sharps container.. She then told me that yesterday on my first case which was a neck fusion, that a loaded knife blade got sent down to decontam. I was shocked, I never send loaded knife blades down and I could not figure how this happened. Well to make a long story short I was not originally assigned to that room another tech was and she was sick and wanted to leave so I scrubbed in and relieved her, well she had loaded the blade and put it into the instrument tray which is a very stupid thing to do, and she never told me about it when I relieved her, so I did not know that the knife was in with the insturments and it got sent down. I told my boss that it is just as much my fault as the other scrubs because I did not catch it. Well I was sick about it and then went back to my boss and asked her if she had written me up. She said, " No, of course not." this was just a learning experiance, she just wanted me to be aware of what went on.
Wow.. I started thinking about how I get to be more conscious and also not assume everyone sets up their back table like me.

Some New Things

A few updates... Ashley my sister is getting married on April 5th, and she has asked me to make her wedding album that the guests sign. So that is where my time has been the last several weeks. It is actually turning out pretty cute, and I am so happy for her.
Also I have been struggling on finding a new ward to go to. The one I have been going to has been awful, seriosly. It has been the most unfriendly ward ever, and if you wonder why people leave the church, well I experianced first hand what it feels like, and it is no fun. :( If I didn't know that church is where I get to be on sundays I would seriously be inactive.... But there is a God because I found a new ward that is totally amazing and for the first time since I have been here I have actually enjoyed church and family Night.

Its been a while...

Wow, it has been almost a month since I last posted anything. I went home to St George last weekend and had an awesome time. It was a lot different and felt different. Once you move away going back is never the same.
Last Friday I was able to get off work at 11:30, which is rare, I usually get off around 3:00 so this was a real treat. I took my grandmas sister down with me so she could spend some time with my grandma, and we arrived in St George around 4 ish. I surprised everyone because they weren't expecting me until 8. Ali was so excited and I was probably more excited than she was. She did not leave my side for a second the whole weekend and if I did leave the room or she couldn't find me she would yell "Shell" at the top of her lungs. We even slept together.. FUN
It was so fun to spend time with my sisters, and to just talk and enjoy one another. My dad took all us girls and Ali to the Olive Garden for dinner Friday night and that was a lot of fun. I love this time in my life and the friendship I have with my sisters I cherish. I get to also mention Michael. I do love him and cherish his friendship too, but in a different way. My family is the greatest and I love them ALL..
